History of Electronic Cigarettes

Although we know that the electronic cigarette was invented in the year 2003, it actually dates back to a patented invention of its design in 1963 by an engineer Herbert A. Gilbert. Back then the electronic stick was called as a smokeless non tobacco cigarette offering an alternative to the hazardous conventional smoking by replacing the cigarette paper and tobacco with moist, flavoured air which upon heating produced the same effect as of a regular cigarette.

The revolutionary idea could never become a reality because of two main factors, one the technology being limited at that time and also in the sixties, smoking was not considered as harmful as it is today and was something that everyone happily participated in and still wasn’t frowned upon. As a result, the so called masterpiece invention and design of Mr. Gilbert never reached the doorsteps of any manufacturing unit.

Electronic Cigarettes were just another design morgue in papers and books until a Chinese pharmacist by the name Hon Lik decided to fill in the shoes of the inventor and make the dream a reality. It was in the year 2003 when he created the first electronic cigarette & the e liquid solution and launched it in the market the following year.

Liquid Formulation Medicine is Easier to Swallow than Tablets or Pills

Tablets and pills are extremely hard to swallow for large numbers of people. Dysphagia or swallowing difficulties can impact individuals of all ages including young children although it is most common in older people because they are more prone to the causative diseases as well as age related changes in the features of the saliva glands. Up to 1/3 of occupants in care homes have problems with Dysphagia which makes looking after their health and well-being a much more difficult job. The problems Dysphagia causes may be serious as it interferes with medicine management as well as medication management when the affected individual has difficulties swallowing tablets . There’s also a risk that tablets and pills consumed by mouth may cause a choking risk. Pills can also become trapped in the throat which can lead to damage of the throat as well as the medicine not being correctly dispersed around the body. The most popular and common way of dealing with Dysphagia has been tablet crushing to make them more palatable and a lot easier to swallow. Crushing tablets so they are easy to swallow seems like a simple answer to the issue of Dysphagia however it can result in several serious implications and also effect the potency of the tablet. Many pills have a sugar coating on them to make them taste more pleasant and although crushing them will not have any kind of impact on the efficiency of the tablet it might make them taste very unpleasant. A lot of the pills and tablets produced today have an enteric layer that is intended to keep the pill together inside the stomach. Pills with an enteric layer must not be crushed because the covering is there either to guard the stomach from the medication or to guard the medication from the effects of the stomach . Fortunately there is an alternative solution for people who are afflicted by Dysphagia and also the people that care for them. These days there’s a broad selection of medicines which can be taken by mouth and have the exact same effects as tablets or pills. Oral liquid formulation medicine may be used to deal with the effects of a number of health problems and conditions and the range of illnesses it can be used to treat is growing all the time. Liquid medicines are easy to swallow for those with Dysphagia and come in a number of pleasant flavors.
